What’s New In Florida Golf 2026

Old Shores Resort

Located in Vernon in the Florida Panhandle (30 minutes north of Panama City Beach), this 4,000-acre resort will eventually have 5 golf courses. The first course, an 18-hole layout designed by Tom Doak and Keith Rhebb is expected to open fall 2027. Plans also call for a second 18-hole course designed by Brian Schneider, a 12-hole short course, a par-3 course and a standalone 9-hole regulation course.

Streamsong Resort Adding New Golf Course

This sprawling golf complex situated midway between Tampa and Orlando in Bowling Green, is adding a new 18-hole course designed by David McLay Kidd (expected to open public January 2027) joining designs by Tom Doak, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and Gil Hanse. The new Course is named Bone Valley.

The Gate Golf Club

Opening in late 2026, The Gate Golf Club in Naples, a non-profit facility, will offer public access. Designed by Peter Jacobsen, it will feature a regulation-length 9-hole course, totaling 3,369 yards, along with a full-length illuminated practice range, and a 48,500-square-foot putting green with an 18-hole putting course. The multi-use clubhouse features a 175-seat restaurant, Oakwood Grill.

Tiger Woods’ Popstroke Expanding

Popstroke Entertainment Group, co-owned by Greg Bartoli, Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf, recently opened it’s 18th location in Winter Garden, Florida near Orlando. Situated in the Hamilin Town Center, the complex encompasses two 18-hole putting courses, a full-service scratch kitchen, restaurant and bar, an ice cream parlor, three bars with expansive TVs and jumbotrons, an outdoor gaming patio, a beer garden, and a fully enclosed children’s playground with a soft rubber surface. Slated to open late 2026 is an I-Drive location in Orlando’s busiest tourism corridor. It will be Popstroke’s 9th location in Florida.

Glynlea Country Club

Designed by 17-time PGA Tour winner Jim Furyk, this recently opened course in a golf course community in Port St. Lucie. The 18-hole layout was designed to integrate the natural wetland water features, enhancing the scenic beauty and offering opportunities for memorable encounters with wildlife.

The Villages Spectacular Golf Course Expansion

The Villages, a massive retirement community in central Florida near Leesburg, is aggressively expanding its golf offerings with several new executive (shorter, par-3 focused) and championship courses. Recently opened is the Beautyberrg coursy, a par-29 executive course with two par 4s and Honeysuckle, a par-28 short course with one par 4 hole. Several more golf courses are scheduled to open late 2026.
