Best Masters 2026 Happenings, Tweets & Quotes

Posted onApril 13, 2026April 13, 2026 2026 Masters, 2026 Masters review, Augusta National, Masters 2026, Masters review, Rory McIlroy, Rory McIlroy Masters, The Masters, Tiger Woods Masters

Rory Does It Again

No Tiger, No Lefty in 2026

For the first time since 1994, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will not both compete in The Masters. Other notable past champions not playing in 2026 include Nick Faldo, Trevor Immelman and Bernhard Langer.

Rory’s Champions Dinner Menu

I’m not sure about the Bacon-Wrapped Dates and Peach and Ricotta Flatbread, but the Wagyu Filet Mignon and Sticky Toffee Pudding look like winners. Word from Rory, though, is the Dates might be a sleeper. He says, “My mum does these really nice dates stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in bacon. You can thank Rosie for that one.”

Sergio Garcia Meltdown

The New Edition of the Gnome

The 2026 edition of the famous, hugely popular garden gnome features a Masters umbrella. They’re in such demand that the Masters has limited the purchase to one per customer.

Epic “X” Tweets

Eleven of the last thirteen Masters Winners were at 1.7+ SG tee to green in the three months leading to the Masters – Kyle Porter @KylePorterNS

… It’s the only place you’ll ever go where everyone is exactly where they want to be. Disney World? No way. Family wedding? Doubtful. But Augusta National during Masters Week. You won’t find a single person who’d rather be somewhere else. Add in the device-free environment and it makes for such a unique dynamic that you literally won’t find elsewhere. Everyone is just happy to be where there feet are – Jason Sobel @JasonSobelGolf

Reporter: “That was a 65 today. What did it feel like it could have or should have been?

Scottie Scheffler: “That’s a terrible question. Next question. Awful.” – @flushingitgolf

Following a poor drive, LIV golf star, Sergio Garcia, tore up the tee box and the proceeded to break his driver on a cooler – @NUCLERGOLF

Masters fan yells “Give me back my son!”, as heard on CBS broadcast – @awfulannouncing

Jon Rahm asked why his weekend at The Masters didn’t turn out the way he’d hoped, “If I knew way, two things, I’m probably not going to say it right now – @mrmckee

Okay I’ll say it. This year’s Masters was kind of lame. Opening the merch shop during women’s Am, having random celebs out there, influencers who don’t even care about golf, no tiger or Phil. It feels like some of the tradition was lost this year – @HaileyOstrom

Overexposure” is the word I’m left with after the Masters (2026). Demand of all things Masters is as high as ever, but they’re risking oversupply. The thing that always made the Masters great is the perfectly curated blend of elusive and accessible, layered on nailing the details – @incolnlay

Memorable Masters Week Quotes

Cameron Young Comments on Final Round

“Sunday at the Masters in the final group, I’m not trying to be best friends out there,” Young said after it was disclosed him and Rory didn’t say much to each other.

Fred Ridley, Chairman Augusta National Golf Club (Issued statement on April 1st)

“Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament fully support Tiger Woods as he focuses on his well-being. Although Tiger will not be joining us in person next week, his presence will be felt here in Augusta.”

Rory McIlroy Joking About His Menu

“People keep asking me why didn’t you go more Irish (on your Champions Dinner menu)? I said because I wanted to enjoy the dinner as well.”

Fred Couples Commenting Before His 41st Masters

“I will never embarrass myself or Augusta. So I plan on doing well this week,” said Fred Couples prior to making his 41st Masters start.”

Greg Norman Speaks About Nick Faldo

“But just to sound off? Like I said, no respect for him (Nick Faldo). He still comes out with stuff that’s interestingly stupid, to be honest with you,” said Greg Norman in an interview with Golf Digest prior to the Masters.

Bryson Vs. Rory

“It’s great if we can continue to have a rivalry. I don’t see any problem with that. If anything, it kind of helps create more buzz around the game of golf…” Bryson  DeChambeau on his relationship with Rory McIlroy.

Gary Player’s Opinion on the 12th Hole

“It’s crippled more people than polio.”

Jack Nicklaus On His Ceremonial Tee Shot

“I was fortunate I got it over somebody’s head, I didn’t hit it very well. As long as I can still hit a golf ball good… Hope to do it as long as I am able to do it and not kill anybody.”
