Rory, Justin and Homa’s On-Course Interviews

Absolutely amazing that three of the world’s best players would consent to on-course interviews DURING Thursday’s round. The audience benefitted for sure.

Scottie’s Applebees Inspired Menu

Anytime you go with Cheeseburger Sliders and Warm Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie let the Applebee’s menu comparisons begin. Scottie Scheffler’s gourmet game is a bit to be desired, but that Texas Ribeye steak saved the day.

Sam Bennett, The Modern Day Francis Ouimet

Amateur Bennett, a Texas A&M golfer, played marvelously the first two days and ended up in the last group on Saturday with Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka. He finished as low amateur at -2, T16.

Epic Tweets

I am disappointed to have to WD this morning due to reaggravating my plantar fasciitis. Thank you to the fans and to The Masters who have shown me so much love and support. Good luck to the players today! @TigerWoods

I’m sure you’re all wondering about the temperature in the room, it was all calm and cool. Only the tortilla soup was spicy hot! -Sir Nick Faldo commenting on the Champions Dinner @NickFaldo006

Today was the first time I’ve seen someone ask Tiger whether he thinks he can win and he didn’t give an immediate “Yes.” – Barstool’s Dan Rapaport @Daniel_Rapaport

Nine of the last 11 Masters winners have been at 1.7 strokes gained tee to green or better in the three months leading into the Masters. – CBS’ Kyle Porter highlighting the best at that stat with Scheffler 2.7, Mcilroy 2.2 and Cantlay 2.2 leading the way. @kyleporterCBS

Tiger on Rory winning the Masters and the career slam: “He will. It’s just a matter of time.” – CBS’ Kyle Porter @kyleporterCBS

Brooks K. Hugely successful in 3-round @livgolf_league tournaments struggling in fourth round of real golf tournament @TheMasters. Things that make you go hunmmmmm. – Art Stricklin @ArtStricklin

Play my last 8 holes +6 in miserable conditions yesterday to MC… and STILL all I want to do is watch the golf today. Some call it obsessed… I’m not really sure what I should call it but I’m some kind of sicko. – Justin Thomas @JustinThomas34

A huge, huge, huge shoutout to Rory and Max for doing these walk-and-talks … it would be very easy to say no, especially when you aren’t playing anywhere close to what you expected, yet you still give us this incredible insight. Very cool that they’ve bought into this. – Shane Bacon @shanebacon

Bittersweet to see the Phil the Thrill of old broadly smiling and thumbs uping @TheMasters crowd after a final round 65. Can’t help, but think this is what he should have been doing the last 2 years in golf. Nobody more capable of an great performance than Lefty. – Art Stricklin @ArtStricklin

The belief that you need to hit a draw to win at Augusta is being fully dispelled in this final group. Baby fades for days! @flushingitgolf

When you factor in the two strokes per side Viktor Hovland gets for playing with Patrick Cantlay, we still have a ballgame. – Alex Myers @AlexMeyers3

In non-Jon Rahm news…. Thomas Pieters threw his driver into a trash can after pull-hooking his drive left on his 10th hole of the day. Used 3-wood for the remaining 6 non par-3 tee shots, hit every fairway and made all pars. – Luke Kerr Dineen @LukeKerrDineen

Notable Masters Week Quotes

Brooks Koepka on slow play in final round

“That group in front of us was brutally slow. Jon went to the bathroom 7 times today, and we were still waiting. So yeah.”

Gary Player on how he rates the majors.

“But, never mind the Masters, the Open is by far the greatest tournament on the planet. I rate the Open at one, the U.S. Open two, PGA three and Augusta four. Four marvelous tournaments.” – GARY PLAYER on how he rates the majors.

Cameron Smith upon returning to the Masters since joining LIV

“I really wasn’t sure what to expect walking on to the range.”

Rory McIlroy on LIV-PGA Tour Relations

“It’s a very nuanced situation. It’s okay to get on with Brooks and DJ, and not with some other guys.”

Tiger Woods on the politeness of patrons at the Masters

“That’s one of the neat things about playing at Augusta, is that you don’t have people yelling, you know, ‘Congrats, you got the ball in the air,’ or whatever it is. It’s so different.”

Tiger Woods on Augusta National Golf Club’s Progress

“I think Augusta’s just like any other part of the world. It has changed, it has evolved. Yes, it has had some roots that I don’t think that everyone’s very proud of, but it has evolved. We have minority members now, it’s more diverse. And just like anything, it evolves. And Augusta certainly has, and I’m sure it will continue to.”

Tiger Woods’ Caddie Joe LaCava

“If he could take a cart, he could contend tomorrow.”

Fred Ridley on Greg Norman’s Absence

“We did not extend an invitation to Mr. Norman. The primary issue and driver there is that I want the focus this week to be on the Masters competition…I would also add that, in the last ten years, Greg Norman has only been here twice.”

Barstool’s Dan Rapaport On Thursday

“Can’t remember a leaderboard this good, this early at the Masters”
